Rethinking Back Pack Straps

Straps

Now back from the holiday I’ve been revisiting the latest design.  I’m thinking that the backpack straps on the bottom might not be the best location.   You don’t really want to put the bottom of the bag against your back.   Going to look at alternate options this week as I  still want to keep a version of this design element alive.

Let me know your thoughts.

And thank you for the great ideas on the latest design. Keep them coming.

What if, along with the leather strap pulling out of the zippered sleeve, you built in either a swatch of the red rip-stop or plaid cotton that could act as a pull-out cover that attaches to those 2 bottom clips (and is sewn into the zipped inner where the strap hides)? See what I did here to your sketch… http://twitpic.com/tklc9. Apologies for the crude nature of the edit. :)

The bottom cover pulls out and the strap lays over it. The cover offers a clean layer between your body and the bottom of the bag that gets laid down on the ground. Roll it and stow it back away in your zippered pouch when not in use and then the leather bottom is back in action. Just a thought.
